Secretions Magnifiques Etat Libre d`Orange perfume. This is an art, a masterpiecie. I sampled and tested many perfumes, but never any of them were even close to this one when it comes to waking up imaginagion and leaving impression for whole day. Yesterday, I was visiting local niche perfumery, and after buying something else I had a nice conversation with the personnel, as usual.

This time though, we touched the topic of really weird scents. At some point, my interlocutor suggested Secretions Magnifiques. Usually she sprays the blotter, sniffs it, and passes it to me.

Not this time. This time she took the bottle, went to the corner of the room and very carefully, at as big as possible distance from her nose, sprayed it over the blotter, watching to not spray on her hand by accident. I though it was a joke. I giggled, took over the sample and smelled it. The opening didn't shock me. It was metallic, aldehydic, fresh. I didn't like it, but mostly because of the chemical character of it.

This time imagination started to work.
My old memories of the times, when visiting abandoned buildings was one of my passions came to the light: the smell of old, broken machine in room where some fire destroyed the wallpaper. Another minute passed.

This time, I felt like the machine had also some decaying leather on it. And. I not only approached the item and smelled it. Sniffing the tester felt like I sniffed my finger after touching the thing.

Another minute passed. For some reason, I remembered, that once while visiting abandoned school, I found dead deer. The smell get little more organic. That’s where the leather resemblance in the machine come from, I thought! Another minute passed.

I’m still in the room with the deer, but its getting darker, the air is getting thicker. Flies are making lot of noise flying around. Another minute passed.

This time, the blotter smells like excrements of dead being. I don’t feel uncomfortable.

Not yet. Though, the smell is resemblance of death. Another minute passed. It get worse. I smell old excrements and decaying flesh. The imagination moved me to dark, cold room, full of blood, and cut of limbs.

It moved me to the scene from Saw. I did feel anxiety. I dropped the blotter, to pick it up again and sniff it again. This time, I felt like I’m the victim in a gore movie. That was enough. Despite the fact, I sniffed it few more times to catch the notes, it was impossible to get them. Only things I catch, was more imaginations, every time, more immersive.

I passed the blotter carefully to the personnel. The lady took it, and put it straight into the can.

For the whole day I felt the smell. I even felt the anxiety. I felt much more than after watching Saw. It was more immersive, more real.

It was like reading a book, when you get into it so much, you sometimes loose contact with the real word, and move to the one described in the reading. Even when putting myself to sleep, I had that moment - oh, what I experienced today! Ah, no, it didn’t happen. It’s just a scent. Never, never any scent had so huge impact on my imagination, and at this point I have to mention, that I never had problems with being oversensitive when it comes to seeing or smelling death and decay. It usually was unpleasant, yes, but not scary at all.

The concept of death is scary for me, from existential point of view, but not itself, seen around, because then it’s just it’s manifestation, which doesn’t change the fear of itself. This scent is both: manifestation and concept. When art leaves you with emotions and impressions, it means it did its job.

Disgusting art don’t touch me. I just say “meh” and move forward. Art can give me creeps, pleasant contemplation, or adoration for what I experience, but never anxiety. Until now. That’s why I think it’s a masterpiece. When to wear?
If zombie apocalypse will happen, wear it!
Zombies will either think you’re one of them, or that your bigger abomination than you, and will run away. Also: if you want to project your fear of people, if you have one, onto others.

They will fear you, as you fear them. The projection: so huge, it projects into your brain, even without any physical material containing one molecule of it. Rating: Frankenstein's monster signature scent.

Check it, but, god forbid, don’t check it on your skin, or you might get into your own gore movie while trying so desperately to scrub it of, that you will scrub of your own flesh.
